Shawn Christopher is a female African-American singer from the USA.
From her start as a background vocalist for R&B singer Chaka Khan to four #1 Hits on Billboard Dance Charts in the US and globally, Shawn has shown herself to be an Artist who loves to bring good music to the masses.
During the late 80’s and the 90s, she scored four #1 singles on the Hot Dance Club Play chart: “French Kiss” by DJ/producer Lil Louis in 1989 (Peaking at Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart), “Don’t Lose the Magic” in 1992 (which also peaked at #71 on the Hot 100, and UK chart #30), ”Sweet Freedom” in 1998, and “Another Sleepless Night“, in 1991, (which also reached #67 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, #50 on the UK Singles Chart, and #17 on BET Video Countdown).
Versatile as a vocalist, Shawn cut her teeth performing as a backup and main singer in bands such as Love Craft, Panama, Nick Tremulis, Kym Mazelle, Sonia Dada, and many more.
Along with her work with fellow Artists, Shawn spent over 20 years using her vocal, writing, composing, and performing gifts serving in the Church as a minister of music/Worship Leader.
Fun fact: Shawn is also the sister of the Grammy-nominated R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Gavin Christopher (yes, the one Mariah Carey mentions in her book ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’).
Shawn is thrilled to be making a return to the dance scene with the Mega-Hit ‘Another Sleepless Night’ on its 30th Anniversary. Raise a glass!
