Before his illustrious career as a producer, Fast Eddie was celebrated as one of the premier house DJs of his time. During the heyday of Chicago House Music, he gained immense popularity, spinning on influential stations like WGCI and WBMX in Chicago. His unique style and innovative mixes cemented his reputation as a trailblazer in the genre. During his stint as a DJ, Fast Eddie produced one of his first singles in collaboration with colleague Kenny “Jammin'” Jason entitled “Can You Dance”. This was followed by other house tracks such as “The Whop” based on dance moves of the same name. Eddie eventually left WGCI for a brief period at WBMX before deciding to focus entirely on producing music and developing artists. He scored one of his biggest hits with “Acid Thunder” on the DJ International label, a track that remains a classic of the Chicago Acid House genre. However, it was the track “Hip House” that truly catapulted him to new heights of popularity.
Fast Eddie’s pioneering efforts in popularising the Hip House genre led to several subsequent hits. He achieved significant success on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, including the chart- topping “Git On Up” (featuring Sundance) a local female rapper which spent weeks at number one and is officially RIAA Certified.
Continuing to innovate, Fast Eddie released “Make Some Noise” and made two notable collaborations under the “Ghetto House” genre. The first of these was entitled “Booty Call” and the other “Pump It” both of which gained extensive airplay on Chicago radio and in clubs, further solidifying his influence.Creator of an original Chicago sound, DJ Fast Eddie became a Hip-House legend in the music scene. His popular house grooves, synchronised with infectious rhythms, made him a musical phenomenon across the globe.
Today, he masterminds a new vibe of deep house grooves accompanied by penetrating bass lines that continue to captivate audiences.
